John Lewis

1938 - 2022

Mr. John Lewis Baumunk, 83, of Lizton, Indiana, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022, at Hendricks Regional Health Hospital in Danville.  He was born in Reelsville, Indiana, on November 7, 1938, the son of the late Lewis and Helen (Blair) Baumunk.          

On January 12,1980, he was married to Anita Louise (Ray) Baumunk; she survives. 

John was a graduate of Reelsville High School.  Following school, he served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He worked as a truck driver for Smith Trucking in North Salem for many years and then for the Hendricks County Highway Department for 15 years.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Baumunk of Lizton; children, Cheryl, Brian, and Darin; several grandchildren; and a sister Mary (Larry) McGinnis of Arizona.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine.

Funeral Services are planned for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at the Porter and Hunt Funeral Home & Crematory, 6 South California Street, in North Salem, Indiana.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of services.

Interment with military rites will follow at K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana.
