Earlene (Underwood) Barr

Earlene (Underwood) Barr, 84, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away at Cloverleaf Health Care on October 20, 2022, following an extended illness.

Earlene was born on June 3, 1938, in Brazil, Indiana, the daughter of Herbert Malcom and Mildred (Harrell) Underwood. She graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1956 and later from Indiana Business College. She married David Lee Barr on September 7, 1958. They had been married for 56 years prior to Dave’s passing in 2014. Together they owned and operated Underwood Truck Lines, in Brazil, following her father Herbert’s passing in 1969.

Earlene had a contagious smile and laugh. She often told others “Always give everyone a smile and they will give it right back to you”. She brightened every room she entered. She enjoyed walking the beach and collecting seashells on Sanibel Island, Florida, horse camping with family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved taking her grandchildren shopping and she was known for her beautiful cakes she made for family and friends.

Earlene was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Mildred Underwood and her husband David Barr.

Earlene is survived by her son Doug Barr (Terry); a daughter Debbie Bunch; grandkids: Derek Barr (Allison), Darice Barr, Bethany Kramer (Kalama), Colleen Osborn (William), Sarah Cox (Trent), and Sam Bunch; great-grandkids: Chael, Ava, David, Haddie, Emersyn, Carson, Parker, and Benjamin.

Graveside services will be held at a later date.
