Abe Gurchiek

December 29, 1941  -  October 30, 2022

Albert “Abe” Martin Gurchiek, 80, passed away October 30, 2022 in Terre Haute, Indiana. Albert was born to the late Thomas John Gurchiek and Naomi Shepherd on December 29, 1941 in Farmersburg, Indiana.

As a young man, Abe served the country that he loved in the United States Army. He was a Christian, a loving father, a brother who loved his family, and a kind and caring friend. Abe had many hobbies including, hunting, golf, bowling, and spending time with his family.

Abe is preceded in death by his parents, as well as a brother, Bart Gurchiek.

Abe is survived by his children, Albert “Bert” Gurchiek (Stephanie) and John Gurchiek (Kara), grandchildren, Kade Jones, Eli, Olivia, Maximus, and Madeline Gurchiek, siblings, Tom Gurchiek (Agnes), Duane Gurchiek (Beverly), Madonna Pope (Harold), Teresa Fuller, Bonnie Harmon (Larry), and Michele Otte (Larry).

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and Wyndmoor Senior Living and Terre Haute Regional Hospital, specifically, Debbie N.P., Clark RN, Barbie RN, Teresa RN, Dr. Kumar, Judy RN, Amedisys and Southern Hospice.

A visitation will be held Saturday, November 5th from 11-1 at French Funeral Home, 421 East National Avenue in Brazil. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Bert Gurchiek will begin at 1 P.M. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery.
