Donnie Dobson

October 24, 1964  -  November 2, 2022

Donald “Donnie” Wayne Dobson “Trapper”, 58, went home to be with the Lord on November 2, 2022 in Terre Haute. Donnie was born to the late Larry and Mary (Lanham) Dobson on October 24, 1964 in Brazil.

Donnie graduated from Van Buren High School in 1985. Donnie worked at Hobby Trucking for over 26 years for his boss Denny Barnett, who he often called “Dad”. Donnie was a very devoted Christian and was a member of the American Christian Truckers Association and formerly attended Carbon Baptist Church. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, trapping and hunting. He loved spending time outdoors and with his family and friends. He was a talker and always had a good story to tell…or a few stories. He enjoyed cooking and was very successful in the kitchen.

Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, his brother David Dobson, maternal grandparents, Mary and Jim Lanham, paternal grandparents, John and Lois Dobson, and an aunt, Goldie Marie Carr. Donnie is also preceded in death by his four-legged best friend, Tyson.

Donnie is survived by his son, Jacob Dobson (Destiny), step-daughters, Stephanie Hughes (David) and Megan Bass, grandchildren, Daisy Dobson, Skylee Hughes, Kayla Hughes, and Paislee Hughes, sister, Lori Escott (Mike), aunt, Dolores Hanson, nieces, Allie Dobson (Jake), Taylor Dove, Sierra Dobson, great nephews: Ryan Fortune, Easton Minger, and Meyer Taylor, cousins: William "Eric" Hanson (Sheri), and Melinda Hanson Aleshire (Tommy).

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 8th at 3:30 P.M. at Bee Ridge Cemetery, 10160 N Kennedys Crossing Road Brazil, Indiana 47834.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help offset funeral costs.
