Mary Evelyn Heeke

SEPTEMBER 8, 1925 – NOVEMBER 6, 2022

Mary Evelyn Heeke, 97, of Greencastle passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mary was born in Putnamville on September 8, 1925, the daughter of Ernest C. and Mary E. (Sellers) Smith, and was a graduate of Cloverdale High School in 1943.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Heeke, (Kathy), Greencastle, and Bill Heeke, (Laurie), Greencastle; two daughters, Marcia Linville, Greencastle, and Theresia Dunkel, (Larry), Gallatin, Tennessee; thirteen grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert J. Heeke, three brothers, John, Bill, and Joyce “Bud” Smith; and two sisters, Mildred Davis and Elizabeth Jones.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2022, at Putnamville Cemetery with Pastor Mark Strom officiating.
