Wanda Lou (Smith) Dyer Copeland

Wanda Lou (Smith) Dyer Copeland, 85, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on November 6, 2022, at Shakamak Good Samaritan, following complications of a fall.

Wanda was born on April 12, 1937, in Coal City, Indiana, the daughter of Howard R. and Marie (Wright) Smith. She graduated from Coal City High School with the class of 1955. She worked as the Post-Master at Coal City, Lewis, Merom, and Celestine retiring after 31 years of service.

Wanda enjoyed her family, music, and her Lord. She played the piano and organ for many years at her church. She was currently attending East Side Baptist Church in Terre Haute.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Marie Smith and a brother George Smith.

Survivors include her two sons Brian Dyer of Spencer and Barry Dyer and wife Patty of Coal City; grandchildren: Jacob Dyer (Stacie), Colton Dyer (Jordan Bowen), Samantha Effner (Nelson), Tony Wolfe (Natalie), Brock Dyer (Jessica), Joni Garrett (Daniel); great-grandchildren: Alex Wolfe, Hunter Wolfe (Sierra Pla), Demi Wolfe, Ivelynn Dyer, Hughston Dyer, Luke Garrett, Lena Garrett, Harlow Dyer, and Cohen Dyer; a great-great-granddaughter Paxyn Rhodes; nephews: Richie Smith (Beth) and Rodney Smith (Christa) as well as several extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 301 E. Eighth Street Clay City Indiana, 47841 on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Services will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dr. John Thompson officiating. Burial will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery.
