Richard ‘Dick’ Haffner

Richard “Dick” Haffner, 85, of Noblesville passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital, surrounded by his family.

He was born Jan. 15, 1938, at Crawfordsville, to the late Donald and Crystal (Moffitt) Haffner.

Dick was the oldest of seven kids, graduating from New Ross High School where he played basketball for Glenn Harper. He then graduated from Butler University where he played basketball and baseball for Tony Hinkle. Dick was inducted into both the Montgomery County Hall of Fame and the Southmont Hall of Fame.

He proudly served his country in the Indiana National Guard. For 40 years, Dick owned Haffner X-Ray Company in Noblesville.

His joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren and watching their sports and activities. Dick was a believer in Jesus Christ and is now home with his Savior.

He is survived by wife Marilou Haffner; daughter Kelly (Rob) Louks; sons, Scott (Laura) Haffner and Cory (Mandi) Haffner; sisters, Christine Myers, Carol Stull and twins Karon Cox and Sharon Cruser; brothers, Phil Haffner and Ron Haffner; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
