Marjorie Pflueger

Marjorie J. Pflueger, 89 of Brazil, passed away January 25, 2023 at 11:10 am, in her home with her family by her side. She was born July 21, 1933 in Clay County, the daughter of Thomas and Jane Rice Ryan. Marj graduated from Brazil High School, with the class of 1951.

On April 16, 1955, Marjorie was united in marriage to Ernest Pflueger. Together they raised their family of 8 children, in the Annunciation Catholic Church. Marj has been a member of the Auxiliary of the Legion of Mary and has volunteered at the SVDP Food Pantry of Annunciation Catholic Church.

To say that family was important to Marjorie is an understatement. She was devoted to her husband and children. She never hesitated in doing for her family and was willing to make any sacrifice that was needed.

She was a past member of the Delt’s Sorority and the Thursday night Women’s Bowling League. She enjoyed Bingo at Kennedy’s Crossing, watching the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball games and attended all the kids and grandkids sporting events. She also was a loyal supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

In her later years, Marjorie worked part time for American Security, Mee and Ewe, French Funeral Home, and Prairie Crossing Gift Shop.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernie Pflueger in 2014 and her sister, Mary Martha Turner.

Survivors include her children, Dan Pflueger and wife Cindy, Kathy Keller and husband Joe, Dee Dee Knight and husband Mike, Jana Sinders and husband Curt, Curt Pflueger and wife Lynne, Tom Pflueger and wife Kim, Joe Pflueger and wife Jeris, and Lori Hughes; grandchildren, Chris Pflueger (Cindy), Andy Pflueger (Anna), Ryan Keller (Nichole), Chad Keller (Megan), Danielle Baker (Darby), Brandee Ng (Joel), Kendall Knight (Megan), Keaton Knight (Kelsey), Tyler Sinders, Megan Smith (Alex), Katelyn Burris (Corey), Jacob Pflueger (Kyonna), Colby Pflueger, Colin Pflueger, Ashley Hagan (Jacob), Libby Nuckols (Chandler); great-grandchildren, Kade, Millie, Kenzie, Noah, Beau, Gretchen, Reid, Brooks, Davis, Callen, Korah, Jade, Lucy, Aubrey, Atticus, Nona, Camden, Lila, Laney, Lauren, and Lexus; brother in law, Jack McKenzie; cousin, Randy Weavery; nieces and nephews, Kevin Turner (Lynn), Robbie Turner (Sherri), Lisa Turchi (Gerry), Mary Ann Dust, Stacey Rice.

 

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11:00 at Annunciation Catholic Church with Father Hollowell officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana, from 4-8, with Rosary at 7:30pm.
