Joseph Leland Shepherd, 14, of Greencastle passed away on my May, 17 2023, surrounded by his family.

Leland was born in Greencastle on Dec 17, 2008, the son of William and Jacqueline Shepherd.

Leland lived a life full of smirks, laughs and love. He loved joking around, going for walks, talking to friends, holding babies, playing video games, electronics, and hanging out with his best-friend/cousin, Ella Cofer, she was only 3 months younger.

Survivors include both parents, William and Jacqueline (Miller) Shepherd; four brothers, Brian Miller, Weslee Benge, Braylon Shepherd, and Jaxon Shepherd; grandparents, Joseph and Anna (Carpenter) Miller and Carolyn (Lytle) Shepherd; great-grandparents, Eddie and Rosie (Fowler) Rogers and Jenny Carpenter; a nephew; as well as, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home in Greencastle, with Pastor Joe Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Fillmore Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday.
