Barbara Sue Roth

JUNE 24, 1942 – OCTOBER 1, 2021

Barbara S. Roth, 79, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born on June 24, 1942, in Terre Haute, to Frank and Ruth (Thomas) Colderbank.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Roth of Terre Haute; sister, Sandy Andrews of Terre Haute; nieces, Laury Hall and husband Dirk of Minnesota, Kathy Placker of Texas, Sarah Lowery and husband Shane of Indianapolis, Frederica Escoffier and husband Steven of Ohio, Barbra Hehmeyer and husband John of Tennessee, and Norma Roth of Brussells, Belgium.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erich William Roth; and a niece, Chrisy Tipton and her husband Bob Tipton of Vincennes.

Barbara was a 1960 graduate of Garfield High School. She graduated with her Master’s degree in teaching from Indiana State University. From the time she was a little girl, Barbara always wanted to be a teacher. She worked for several years at Consolidated School in West Terre Haute until her dream of becoming a mother was fulfilled.

Barbara was a long-time member of the former Grace United Methodist Church and was active in the “Grace Girls.” She taught nursery school at the church and enjoyed the fellowship she had with the other members. Barbara enjoyed going on car rides just to take in the sights. She loved animals, especially dogs, and opened her heart and home to strays and shelter dogs alike. She cherished the time she spent with her family. Barbara had a warm heart and a lovely soul. She will be truly missed.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Barbara will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
