John P. Weesner

John P. Weesner, 72, of Darlington passed away Thursday morning at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville.

Mr. Weesner retired from the VA Administration building in Indianapolis, where he was a clerical worker who was never late and never missed a day in 41 years. He was a member of Gateway Apostolic, now known as Hope Chapel.  He liked Bible study and researched world history during the Biblical age. He was dependable, honest and obedient to God’s word. He also enjoyed birdwatching and had several birdfeeders.

Born Jan 10, 1949, at Darlington, he was the son of Erving B. Weesner and Alice McClaskey Weesner. He graduated from the Indiana School for the Deaf.

Surviving family includes: brother Robert E. Weesner (wife Laine) of Independence, Kentucky; nephew Marshall Weesner of Cincinnati, Ohio; niece Lerin Middendorf of Independence, Kentucky; along with close friend, Pastor Everett Davenport.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Ave., Crawfordsville. Services will begin at 1 p.m., led by Pastor Everett Davenport. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington.
