He was a proud and active member of the Martinsville High School Class of 1959. He greatly enjoyed gatherings with his classmates. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Wabash College and later his master’s degree from Indiana University.

Steven pursued his career and passion for education shaping and molding the minds of the youth in several school districts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Mildred Kain; wife Sharon Kain; and brother Richard Kain.

Family and friends are invited to visit 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28 in the chapel at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville. A funeral celebrating the life of Mr. Kain will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, with Rev. Roxie McNelly officiating. There will be an hour of visiting prior to the service. Mr. Kain will be cremated, and he will be laid to rest along with his late wife, Sharon, in Mahalasville Cemetery at a later date.
