George E. Frye

George Edward Frye, 87, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021 at Hickory Creek in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
He was born in Tennessee on Nov. 24, 1933; a son of the late George W. and Leora (Martin) Frye.
He attended schools in Tennessee. On June 30, 1956, he married Jo Ann (Sumpter) Frye in Monticello, Kentucky; she survives, and they had shared 65 loving years together.
George worked in construction and masonry most of life. He was a hard worker who enjoyed watching TV and relaxing at ho dme in his free time. He attended the Church of Christ in Jamestown and was a devoted and kind man who loved his family dearly.
He leaves behind his wife, Jo Ann Frye of Jamestown; two sons, John (Dawn) Frye of Waynestown, Jeff (Debbie) Frye of Crawfordsville; three grandchildren: Chris Frye, Heather Durell and Bethany Frye; seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Harold (Phyllis) Frye of Monticello, Kentucky, Thurston (Edith) Frye of Monticello, Kentucky, Don Frye of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; two sisters, Helen (Lyle) Denny of Monticello, Kentucky and Louise Reed of Greenwood.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death siblings Freeman Frye, Fred Frye, Paul Frye, Neta Baker, Francis Groce and Sue Bertram.
Funeral services are to be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021 at Porter & Hunt Funeral Home, 315 W. Main St., Jamestown. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will follow services at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Jamestown.
