Paulette J. Teiken

Paulette Janice Teiken, 66, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2021 at her home.

Paulette was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, on January 4, 1955, the daughter of John “Jack” Teiken and Barbara (Erickson) Teiken. She graduated from South Putnam High School with the class of 1974. She worked with her dad, at his radio stations, as his secretary, for many years. After he retired, Paulette began working for Dave Smerdel, at Yesterday’s Pub, as a bartender and server. When she wasn’t working Paulette enjoyed working on crafts, baking, sewing, gardening, and “upcycling.” She was also a devoted mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents John “Jack” Teiken and Barbara Teiken; two siblings in infancy: Loren Teiken and Debra Teiken; a great-grandson Jacob Schane.

Paulette leaves behind 3 children: Jennifer Craft of Reelsville, Indiana, Eric Teiken of Brazil, Indiana, and Nicole “Niki” White of Brazil, IN; 4 grandchildren: Jesse Schane, Justin Schane, Amber Schane, and Nova White; 3 great-grandchildren: Maia Schane, Oakley Watson, and Conner Heyen; 3 siblings: Lorrie Heber (James) of Terre Haute, Andrea Bolin (William) of Scandia, MN, and Mary Brown (Chad) of Centerpoint; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 4-7:30 pm. Rosary will be held at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church, on Tuesday, at 11:00 am with Father Hollowell officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
