Joshua 'Josh' Ryan Hoffman

February 15, 1975 - December 31, 2021

 

Joshua Ryan Hoffman, came dancing into the world on February 15, 1975 and didn’t stop until December 31, 2021. He loved musical theater, painting, sewing, decorating for the holidays, and crafting. To know Josh was to love him. Josh truly loved performing and believed All the world’s a stage.

Josh was born in Brazil to his loving parents, Mike, and Susie Crabb Hoffman. He graduated from Northview High School, class of 1993. He attended Indiana State University, but then he had an opportunity to join American Family Theatre. He was with the American Theatre Arts for Youth from 1995 to 2005. He traveled all over the United States doing children’s theatre.

Josh was a member of the Crossroads Repertory Theatre, the Community Theatre of Terre Haute, and a devoted member of the Clay County Community Theatre. He was also well known as a Performer/ Entertainer as a female impersonator throughout the area.

He was preceded in death by his father John Michael Hoffman; grandparents, William and Gladys Crabb, John, and Charlotte Hoffman; aunts, June Crabb, Janean Douglas; uncles, Pat Hoffman, and Kenny Crabb.

Survivors include his mother, Susie Hoffman; sister Erin Kelly and husband Josh Kelly; nephews, Riley Patrick Kelly, and Harry Michael Kelly; Aunt Judy Neilan and Charlotte Crabb; Uncles Steve Crabb (Margaret), Jeff Hoffman (Sandi), and Larry Crabb (Nancy); many cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 6:00pm at the Lawson-Miller Chapel with family friend B. Lee Reberger officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6pm. Family request that masks be worn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Clay County Community Theater.
