Nancy L. Servies, 82, of Crawfordsville passed away in the evening of Jan. 12, 2022, at home, surrounded by family and friends.

Mrs. Servies retired in 1999 from Crawfordsville High School, where she taught communications and English from 1984. She was previously employed at Lebanon High School 1974-1984 as an English teacher and yearbook advisor. She was the treasurer of the Anna Willson Memorial Foundation for several years in Crawfordsville and secretary of Brookhaven Village in Florida for three years, where she and her husband resided during the winter months. She was a past member of the First United Methodist Church and later the First Baptist Church of Lucerne Park in Winter Haven, Florida and the Mace United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 72 auxiliary.

Mrs. Servies was a 1957 graduate of Crawfordsville High School, a 1972 graduate of Purdue University and received a master’s degree from Purdue University in 1980 in educational communications.

She was born January 16, 1939 in Crawfordsville to Charlotte Gegner Hudson and Babe Delight Hudson. She married Marlin B. Harrington on June 14, 1959. He passed away on April 23, 1975. She then married Max E. Servies on July 3, 1976. He passed away Oct. 9, 2021.

Survivors include: daughters, Alisa M. Servies Maloney (Tim), Tina Jane Servies Elmore (Dale), Stacy L. Harrington Adams (Randy); sons, M. Kirk Harrington (Sammie), K. Kent Harrington (Winnie), Tim R. Servies (former spouse, Wendy, deceased) and 24 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Foster (John), Marilyn Hudson, brother, Charles Hudson (Jan), sister, Rita Hamm.

Nancy lived a blessed life, walking firmly with her faith. She would enter a room and brighten it with her love, light and laughter. She took great pride in her children, family, friends and students. She loved life and lived it to the fullest! In her last hours she spoke of a beautiful light and that her Lord was calling her name. She was a blessed gift to all of those who loved her! She will continue to travel through life, with all she loved carrying her with us in our hearts and memories.

Services will be conducted Sunday, Jan. 23 at Burkhart Funeral Home, with visitation from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and services starting at 4 p.m. Entombment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24 at Oak Hill Mausoluem.
