Betty Jean McCollum-Spear

Betty Jean McCollum-Spear, 80, of Goshen, formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away Friday, April 15, 2022, at Goshen Hospital.

She was born Jan. 16, 1942, in Carroll County, to Jim and Oma (Stephens) Spear.

Betty was a graduate of Flora High School. She worked several jobs through her years, including Hysters, Fleetwood Travel Trailer and Wabash National. She was a loving woman that never met a stranger and was an example of forgiveness and sweetness. She enjoyed going line dancing and square dancing, working in her gardens, bird watching, fishing, mushroom hunting and being outdoors. But above all, she loved her family and enjoyed sharing time and making memories with them.

Betty is survived by her children, Kathleen Lewis, James Randle, Robert Jensen, Phyllis (Dwayne) Norman and Richard (Melissa) Jensen; siblings, Virginia Niece, James (Connie) Spear and Marilyn Wagoner; several nieces and nephews; 21 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Cheryl Randle; and three sisters.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home-Reinke Chapel, Flora. Burial will follow at Zion Citizen’s Cemetery.
