Patricia Ruth Shewey

FEBRUARY 22, 1932 – APRIL 26, 2022

Patricia R. Shewey, 90, of Brazil, IN died Tuesday, April 26 at Mill Pond Health Campus. She was born in St. Louis, MO. on February 2, 1922 to Armin and Lorene Mueller. She married James L. on September 9, 1950 in St. Louis, MO. She retired as an administrative assistant at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL. She is preceded in death by her husband, James L., her daughter Nancy R. Wilson, and her parents. She is survived by her grandson, Shane Johnson (Emily), great-granddaughter Shelby Aguirre (Vincent), and great-great-grandson, Xavier James Aguirre. During her time in Brazil, she was active in the Silver Sneakers at the YMCA and volunteered at Ascension St. Vincent Clay Hospital. She attended St. John’s United Church of Christ. Patricia was a loving, kind person and will be deeply missed.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM (10:00 AM CST) at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Mattoon, IL on Monday, May 2, 2022. Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
