Vernon Lee ‘Junior’ Dowell

Vernon Lee “Junior” Dowell, 55, of Wichita, Kansas, formerly of Lincoln County, Kentucky, died Sunday, July 10, 2022, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.

Vernon was born May 17, 1967, at Stanford, Kentucky, the son of Diane Mae Siler Rice and Vernon Dowell.

He was a member of the Christian faith. He previously worked in home remodeling and construction. He enjoyed RC cars and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Survivors include his mother, Diane Mae Siler Rice of Stanford; his father, Bro. Vernon and wife, Rebecca Dowell of Crawfordsville; his companion, Wendy Williams of Wichita, Kansas; seven children, Tessa Jo and husband Tyler Ray, Brett Carl and wife Taylor Dowell, Carly Brooke Dowell, Derek Lee Dowell, Jesse Lee Dylan Griffin, Jaycey Jolee Dowell and Colin Mathew Dowell; 12 grandchildren; four sisters, Kristen Michelle Bridgham, Crissy Dawn Dowell Miller, Tasha Lynn Dowell Jardinez and Tiesha Jo Dowell; and four brothers, Kenny Dowell, Brian Keith Dowell, Shawn Eric Dowell and Dustin Ray Dowell.
