Joey Pierce

Joseph “Joey” E. Pierce, 58, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away, of natural causes, on August 10, 2022.

Joey was born on September 18, 1963, in Clay County, Indiana the son of Bernard C. and Mary M. “Peg” (Carter) Pierce. Joey graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1981. He married Angelia “Angie” Sappenfield on September 4, 1993. Joey worked at Great Dane Trailers for several years before working as a sheet metal worker for Local 20 out of Terre Haute.

When he wasn’t working Joey loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching his kids sporting events and extracurricular activities. He enjoyed Jeep rides, mushroom hunting, fishing, playing Uno, watching sporting events, playing fetch with his grand-dog Thor, and watching the news with his cat Smoke.

Joey was preceded in death by his father Bernard Pierce.

Survivors include his wife Angie Pierce; two sons: Joseph Connor Pierce and wife Lexi and Petty Officer 3rd Class Nathanial Cole Pierce; a daughter Ava Lucille Pierce; his mother Mary “Peg” Pierce; siblings: Mike Pierce and wife Kathy of South Bend, Polly Pierce of Brazil, and Penny Sue Harbaugh and husband Rod of Terre Haute; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Monday, August 15, 2022, from 4-7 PM. Services will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Bridgewater officiating.

Burial will be held at a later date at Bee Ridge Cemetery.
