Michael ‘Mick’ Luft

April 26, 1948-Sept. 22, 2022

Michael “Mick’ Luft passed away in his home after losing his battle with cancer on Sept. 22, 2022.

Mick was born April 26, 1948. He grew up in Rosedale, Indiana, where he played basketball for the hometown team the “Hotshots.” During his childhood, Mick enjoyed the time he spent with his siblings, especially his twin brother, Rick.

After graduating from Rosedale High School in 1966, Mick moved to Crawfordsville. Mick worked for RR Donnelley for 42 years. After retirement he mowed Miligan Park as a part-time job, and his favorite pastime.

As he got older, Mick loved being with family, being outside mowing, washing his car and his dog Abbey. Mick never knew a stranger, always smiled, and waved at everyone passing by. He was loved dearly and will be missed.

Mick was preceded in death by father Charles F. Luft; mother Lois Henry Luft Carty; oldest brother, Charles W. Luft; twin brother Richard “Rick” Luft; and great-grandson Coleson Gunderman.

He is survived by sisters, Charlene Spencer and Darla Kessler; brother Steve Luft; two children, Michael J. Luft and Nikki Luft; five grandchildren, Kylee Adams, Brody Luft, Taylor Luft, Hayden Adams and Emma Balaz; and two great-grandchildren, Karter Martin and Karma Adams.

Mick will be cremated and buried by his twin brother. There will be no visitation, but a private family burial will take place in Rosedale Cemetery. Care and arrangements entrusted to Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, Rosedale.
