George David Downey

George David Downey, 73, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away on September 27, 2022 following a lengthy illness.
George was born on April 17, 1949, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, the son of William B. and Kathleen E. (Welch) Downey.
He graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1967. George married Sally Jane Willison on August 6, 1971. He worked as a sheet metal worker for many years with local 20 in Terre Haute.
George enjoyed playing golf and scored 2 holes in one. He also enjoyed reading mysteries and thrillers.
George was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Dwain Downey.
Survivors include his wife Sally Downey; sons Zach Downey (wife Tricia) and Tyson Downey; grandsons Keagan Downey and Dash Downey; a brother Don Downey; and many brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews, who all loved him very much.
Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834 on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM with services to follow at 6:00 PM.
