Sherri Sullivan

December 10, 1942  -  October 14, 2022

Sharon “Sherri” S. (Hedge – McCrocklin) Sullivan, Terre Haute, passed from mortal sight on October 14, 2022, surrounded by her beloved family.

Sherri was born to Hershel and Georgia (Drake) Hedge, of Lawrenceville, Illinois on December 10, 1942, in Bridgeport. She was big sister to Sandra Kay Safady (Orlando, Fl) and Louwanna Gard (Lawrenceville).

Sherri married Gary McCrocklin, Sr., on February 2, 1968, in Brazil. Sherri was untiringly devoted to her family, never missing a school event, ball game, or anything involving her children. She operated the concession stand for Clay Youth League for what seemed like decades and enjoyed getting to know the kids and families – all the while working sometimes 2 or 3 jobs. She began her working years as a telephone operator in Lawrenceville. She loved caring for others and worked in home healthcare until retirement. She loved spending time with family and friends, reading, watching Hallmark movies, and going to church.

Thousands of words could be written about her loving, caring nature, but they are best known in the minds and hearts of all who met her.

Later she married Vernon Sullivan, and they enjoyed many years together.

She was preceded into eternity by her parents and her husbands.

She is survived by her sisters, and her children: Shelley Greene, Phillip “Bubba” (Valantina) McCrocklin, Gary McCrocklin, Jr., and Shawn (Steve) McCrocklin. Grandchildren: Brandon Sutherland, Deaven (Tristan) Langley, Chase (Noely), Jordyn, and Olivia McCrocklin; two great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and her GrandPugs.

Friends may call at French Funeral Home in Brazil, Wednesday October 19 from 5pm to 7pm, with services at 7pm. Cremation has been selected.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to First Church of Christ, Scientist – Terre Haute, 2500 Prairieton Road, Terre Haute, IN 47802, or a children’s charity.
