Jimmie Dale Hargett

Jimmie Dale Hargett

JANUARY 29, 1952 – NOVEMBER 7, 2022

Jimmie D. Hargett, 70, passed peacefully over the River Jordan on November 7 2022.

He was born on January 29, 1952 in Mount Croghan, South Carolina to Wade and Peg (Fadie) Hargett.

He spent most of his life farming and working in the cotton mills in his home state. He was an avid fisherman, but, above all, he was an artist. Jimmie loved working with his hands, and he applied his skills as a craftsman and jack-of-all-trades into the hobbies of woodworking and painting, where his true talent shined. In his downtime, Jimmie loved playing video games, and he spent many evenings sharing that with his sons.

In his heart, South Carolina would always be Jimmie’s home. Family and the love of God is what he lived for. He pastored for a short time at The Way of the Cross Church in Jefferson, South Carolina.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Donna Hargett; six children, Anthony (Stephanie) Hargett, Kenneth (Misti) Hargett, Sandra (Doug) Johnson, Brian (Carol) Hargett, Cassie (Carey) Shea, and Andy (Emily) Mitchell; one brother, Wylie (Susie) Hargett; four brothers-in-laws, Gordon, Paul, Steve, and Gary Neeley; one aunt, Bonnie Steen; 20 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wade and Fadie Hargett, his sister, Sue, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Edna Neeley, his brother-in-law, Roger Neeley, his sister-in-law, Sherri Neeley, his niece, Tanya Neeley, and his grandchildren, Noah Wade Hargett and Amelia Shea.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2022, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday.

Memories may be shared with the family at www.Hopkins-Rector.com.
