Violet L Schopmeyer

AUGUST 8, 1931 – NOVEMBER 24, 2022

Violet L. Schopmeyer, 91, of Woodbridge, VA formerly of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022.

Born August 8, 1931 in Brazil, IN, she was the daughter of Albert H. and Lessie (Sexton) Schopmeyer.

Violet owned and operated Violet’s Beauty Shop in Greencastle for 52 years. She was also the hairdresser for Hickory Creek at Sunset Nursing Home for several years.

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi; Phi Beta; Mary J. Homemakers Club; and Poland United Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Gary A. Schopmeyer, Sr.

Violet is survived by her niece, Joan Schopmeyer-Medina and nephew, Gary Schopmeyer, sister-in-law, Reba Schopmeyer and her great niece and nephews, Ruth, Samuel and Daniel Medina.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 5, 2022, at the Poland Chapel Cemetery in Poland, IN. Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
