Jack O. Trotter

December 7, 1937 - November 30, 2022

Mr. Jack O. Trotter, 84, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at his home in Jamestown, Indiana.  He was born in Dearborn, Michigan, on December 7, 1937, a son of the late Orville and Sophia (Marcie) Trotter.            

On May 28, 1976, he was married to Linda (Graham) Trotter.  They had celebrated 46 loving years together. They loved to travel, dance, spend time with friends, and work on their historic home.

Raised in South Rockwood, Michigan, Jack was a 1956 graduate of Airport High School. After moving to Indiana, he dedicated 37 years to Golden Castings Corporation in Columbus, retiring in 2000. Jack had recently been elected to the Jamestown City Council but did not get to serve due to a health issue.

Jack was a devoted family man, one of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren.  He loved to golf with his friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Trotter of Jamestown; three children, James H. (Tracy) Trotter of Scipio, Indiana, Lynne VanHorn of Monroe, Michigan, and Joe (Sarah) Weder of Jamestown; nine grandchildren, Magen, Jacoby, Clayton, Teagan, Zak, Tyler, Jarrett, Ashlee, and Jacob; and four great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brother, William Trotter, and sister, Sally Fields.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Porter and Hunt Funeral Home & Crematory, 315 West Main Street, in Jamestown, Indiana. Funeral Services are planned for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Jamestown.
