Sharon Ann Minar, 77, of Graysville and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, December 2, 2022. She was born on October 2, 1945, in Louisville, KY, to Chester “Chet” Jenkins and Dorotha Staggs Corder.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Jim Minar of Sullivan; daughter, Gina Minar and husband Ron Benda of Graysville; sister, Bonnie Harrison of Washington; brothers, Gary Jenkins and wife, Jean Anne, of Brazil and John Jenkins of Terre Haute; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Irene Jenkins; step-father, William Corder; brothers, Joe Jenkins, Ronnie Jenkins, and Danny Gene Jenkins; and sisters-in-law, Linda Jenkins and Cheryl Wright Jenkins.

Sharon was a 1963 graduate of Gerstmeyer High School. She worked for several years as a telephone operator. She later worked at Anaconda and retired as the apartment manager for Raintree Village/Plant Brothers Excavating.

Sharon loved to travel, especially with her daughter. She could often be found wearing a “Life is Good” t-shirt while eating chocolate, rinsing it down with a diet soda, all while listening to Elvis croon. She loved her little poodles, Silver, Penny, and Harley. Sharon was always willing to help others, her kindness and generosity were a shining example for her family. She enjoyed being a Mom more than anything, not only to Gina, but to her friends and also to her niece, Alicia. She will be deeply missed by her family.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Roselawn Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, December 7. A funeral ceremony will be held at noon on Wednesday, December 7, at the funeral home. Sharon will be laid to rest in Highland Lawn Cemetery.
