Ethel C. Wells was born in Parke County on May 18, 1927, to John Squires and Sarah Stevenson Squires.

In years past, she was a member of the Republicans Club and attended events with her friends. She has been a member of Ebenezer Church for most of her life.

Ethel has always taken pride and enjoyed caring for others. Whether at her job, or for her circle of family and friends, she like doing for others. She enjoyed preparing meals, taking care of clothing, including ironing, and always listening to events in the lives of those she loved

While Ethel was not rich monetarily, or in terms of education: she had her abundance in faith and family. In her later years, Ethel took the most joy in looking after her family. Ethel helped to raise multiple generations of family, primarily looking after her nine grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

Ethel passed away December 8, 2022, at 10:35pm with her family by her side. She had been a resident of Cloverleaf Healthcare for the past several months.
