Irene Douglas

OCTOBER 18, 1933 – DECEMBER 13, 2022

Irene Douglas, 89, of Greencastle passed away December 13, 2022.

Irene was born in Somerset, Kentucky on October 18, 1933 to the late Ira and Stella (French) Price. She married the love of her life Marvin Douglas On April 3, 1953.

She was a faithful member of the Knightsville Church of Christ. Irene worked at Greencastle Decorating for many years. She was known for her fine sewing skills and shared that beautiful work with those she loved. Most of all she was a devoted wife for 69 years and a loving mother to her four children.

Irene is survived by her husband, Marvin; sons, Clay (Linda) Douglas of Palmetto, FL, Marvin (Norma) Douglas of Lafayette, Rick Douglas of Plainfield, and daughter

Vicki (Randall) Sanders of Bainbridge; six grandchildren; one step-grandson; eight great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Fylma Brewer; a brother, James Price; and a daughter-in-law, LuAnne Douglas.

In accordance with Irene’s wishes, there will be no public viewing or visitation. A private graveside burial will occur at Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle with Pastor Rob Dispennett officiating.
