Jerry Lee Pastorius

JANUARY 14, 1939 – DECEMBER 14, 2022

 

Jerry L. Pastorius, Sr., 83, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Wednesday, December 14, 2022.

Jerry leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years, Vivian L. Haase Pastorius; one brother, William “Bill” Pastorius; three children, Karen (Rod), Debbie (Steve), and Jerry Jr. (Dena); seven grandchildren, Kimberly Milner (David), Joshua McLin (Alisha), Brian Riggs, Lacey Lane (Sean), Codey Pastorius (Mandy), Lindsey Riggs, Brandi Hummel (Josh); seventeen great-grandchildren, Austin Hastings, Brenden Lane, Baylee Booe, Mya Booe, Lillian McLin, Kysen Hoskins, Bentlei Freeman, Malina Hoskins, Ariana Overpeck, Kendall McLin, Lane Pastorius, William Lane, Grayson Pastorius, Rylee Hummel, Octavia “Tavi” McLin, Gracie Hummel, and Asher McLin; one great-great-grandchild, Everly Hastings; sisters-in-law, Judy “Darlene” Johnson, Judy Haase, and Kathy Haase; and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, William and Iola Pastorius; his sister, Judy Pastorius; and two brothers-in-law, Gary Haase and Kenny Haase.

Jerry was a very talented baseball and basketball player for Fontanet High School, receiving many awards. He went on to work at Wabash Fiber Box Company, retiring after 42 years of dedicated service. He then went to work for Securitas Security.

In his younger years, Jerry was an avid gardener and hunter. Later on, his great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. Poppy enjoyed nothing more than swinging them in the backyard swing or riding them around in the wagon on the tractor.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 19 at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20 at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Barnes officiating. Jerry will be laid to rest in Burnett Cemetery.
