Darrel Wayne Stroot

Darrel Wayne Stroot, 70, of Terre Haute, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at his home. He was born on November 17, 1952, in Terre Haute, to Clarence Anthony and Viola (Lidster) Stroot. He married Eunice Gadberry in 1981.
Darrel is survived by his two brothers, Dennis Stroot of Terre Haute, and Donald and Cathy Stroot of Ocala, FL; wife of over 40 years, Eunice Stroot of Terre Haute; sons, Anthony Stroot and wife Andrea of Houston, TX, Bradley Stroot and fiancée Megan Cartellone of Solsberry; step-son, Robert Grizzle and wife Donna of Terre Haute; grandchildren Elizabeth Stroot of Houston, Alissa Grizzle of Terre Haute, Megan Grizzle of Chicago, and Jacob Porter of Crawfordsville; and long-term friends Paul Hannah of Terre Haute, Jim Turner of Indianapolis, and Terry Gemmecke of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Darrel was a 1970 graduate of Wiley High School and then attended Indiana State University. He went on to own and operate his own business, Dependable Floor Care Service, for many years. In his free time, he loved swimming and fishing at Dietz Lake, visiting yard sales, collecting antiques, and supporting IU basketball.
Per his wishes, there will be no formal funeral service, but instead Darrel will be cremated and scattered in the places he loved most.
