William Archie Goodrich

William “Bill” Archie Goodrich, 83, of Brazil, Indiana passed away in his home, on Friday, December 23, 2022.

He was born on August 21, 1939, the son of Elizabeth Lawrence (Maxwell) Goodrich. He graduated from Garfield High School with the class of 1959. At the age of 17, Bill joined the United States Marine Corps where he served for 8 years. In 1960 Bill married his childhood sweetheart Linda Clayton. He worked as a Millwright at Anaconda Aluminum, in North Terre Haute, retiring after 32 years of service.

Bill was Past Master of the Knightsville Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Rio Grande Church of Christ.

When Bill wasn’t working, he enjoyed going storytelling, dancing, kayaking, coin collecting, metal detecting, playing golf, scuba diving, snow skiing, roller blading, muzzle loading, camping, traveling, flying, attending his kids, nieces, and nephews extracurricular events, and reading.

He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Goodrich; brothers John Goodrich and Jim Goodrich; and a sister Anne Higgins (Billie Higgins).

Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years Linda Goodrich; children: Billy Goodrich (Debbie Padgett), Carrol Evans (Scott), Susan Piatt (Rob), Barbra Buehrer (Damon); 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Laura Goodrich and Ethel Landers; as well as various aunts, uncles, and extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Services will be held at the funeral home, on Wednesday, at 1:00 PM with Pastor Richard Piatt officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
