Anna Maxine Metz

Anna Maxine Metz, 99, of Alma Lake, Indiana, passed away at her home on December 24, 2022.

 

Maxine was born on March 24, 1923, in Brazil, Indiana, the daughter of Jacob and Ethel (Rader) Deardorff. Maxine graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1942. Maxine married Clarence Metz Jr. on October 11, 1942. She worked for Quaker Maid and retired from Columbia House after many years of service. Maxine attended the former Harmony United Methodist Church. She was active and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 2 and VFW Post 1127 Auxiliaries. She was also a member of the Eight and Forty Parke County Salon #806, LeFemmes Cabane #21, Withlacoochee Quilters Guild, Valdosta, Georgia. She enjoyed quilting, crafting, painting, working crosswords, playing music, watching NFL Football, and playing Solitaire.

 

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Ethel Deardorff, her husband Clarence Metz Jr., and her son-in-law Greg Mullinix.

 

She is survived by her daughters Billie Jo “B.J.” Fletcher (Dwain), Brenda Gail Heidel, and Janine Rae Mullinix; grandchildren: Scott Dodds, Lisa Herndon (Michael), Tammy Erow (Bill), Mike Fletcher (Lisa), Mark Fletcher (Tracy), Tim Fletcher (Lesley), Marnie Neese (Brad), Kevin Heidel (Krista), Jon Russell (Anita), Ashlee Zaucha (Chad); 21 great-grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834 on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Services will be held at the funeral home, on Friday, at 1:00 PM with Pastor Mark Mullinix officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
