Kevin Winsted

Kevin Joseph Winsted, 63, of Brazil, passed away January 2, 2023 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Kevin was born to the late Ronnie Winsted and Patty (Forsyth) Dill on November 8, 1959 in Terre Haute.

Kevin attended Van Buren High School. After high school, Kevin attended Ivy Tech Community College where he graduated with a degree in Heating and Cooling. After graduating, he realized he would rather spend his time outdoors and began working in the landscaping industry. He worked for Tom Henderson for many years.

Kevin enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, panning for gold, and doing anything he could outdoors. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his motorized bicycle around town to visit family and friends. Kevin was a very talented painter and enjoyed recreating nature scenes.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Karen Winsted, twin infant brothers, two brothers, Tim Wright, and Leonard Wright, a son, Kevin Winsted, and a daughter, Sheila Winsted.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Cathy Winsted, two children, Melissa Dowell (Fred), Tim Winsted (Lindsey), step daughter, Gennifer Lindquist (Chuck), seven grandchildren, Joseph, Nicole, Jacob, Kenna, Maddilynn, Braeden, and Jeremy, siblings, Ronnie Winsted, Brenda Tetidrick, Kenneth Wright, Waneta Morge, and Bonnie Winsted, as well as several close friends. He is also survived by his in laws, Cindy and Scott Standley, and Marilyn “Moose” Strawser. Kevin also leaves behind his three dogs whom he loved very much.

A visitation will be held Monday, January 9th from 11-1 at French Funeral Home, 421 East National Avenue in Brazil. A funeral service will begin at 1 P.M. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to help offset the cost of funeral arrangements.
