Thomas Alan Edington

Thomas “Tommy” Alan Edington, 62, of Brazil, Indiana entered Heaven’s gates on January 12, 2023, following injuries sustained in a fall.

Tom was born, in Terre Haute, Indiana on July 9, 1960, the son of Louis and Mable (White) Edington. He attended West Vigo High School. As a teenager, Tom worked at Fueling Stations as an attendant. He moved on to work at Garage World in Brazil. For the past 42 years, Tom was a welder at Great Dane Trailers, in Brazil.

Tom was a volunteer firefighter for 21 years with the Van Buren Volunteer Fire Department. He had served several years as assistant chief. Most recently, Tom had been attending First Baptist Church, in Brazil.

Tom enjoyed spending time with family and friends, spending time outdoors, doing yard work, fishing, camping, and boating. Tom also loved to work on cars, all types of construction – even building his own home. Tom loved “window shopping”, making wish lists, going on long car rides, and loved cooking for his family. His specialty was as a grill master. His ribs and pulled pork were better than any restaurant. He dreamed of opening a restaurant someday.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Mable Edington.

He is survived by his 3 children: Thomas S. Edington of Carbon, Tamara Heck (David) of Brazil, and David Edington (Jess) of Brazil; grandchildren: Jaicee Stewart, Kyler Stewart, Triston Edington, Thomas S. Edington II, Candice Normandeau, Tyler Range, Karson Lacey, Kameron Lacey, and Korbin Heck; a great-granddaughter Arika Roberts as well as several extended family members and friends.

Memorial services will be held at Lawson – Miller Chapel 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
