Betty Jane Whitlock

JANUARY 17, 1926 – JANUARY 21, 2023

Betty Jane Whitlock, 97, of Greencastle, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Born January 17, 1926 in Anderson, IN. the daughter of Clarence R. and Nona Lillabell “Lily” (Lagle) Parks.

Betty had worked at G.C. Murphy for 31 years as an assistant manager. After retiring she went back to work in the cafeteria for the Greencastle Schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Whitlock; a son, Raymond Lee Whitlock; two brothers and five sisters.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Donna Sue (husband Kenny) Sowers; grandchildren, Robert Wiley, Delinda Burdine, Cindy Thompson, Jennifer Wiley, and Suzanne Parra; 15 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM on Saturday until time of service at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Fillmore Cemetery.
