Loretta Mae Kirchner

February 20, 1936  -  February 4, 2023

Loretta Mae Kirchner, 86, of Brazil, departed this Earthly life on February 4, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, at Cloverleaf Heath Care.

Loretta was born on February 20, 1936, in Knightsville, the daughter of Ross and Altha (Vandiever) Rodgers. Loretta graduated from Van Buren High School, with the Class of 1954. She married Jack Kirchner on November 11, 1954. She was a homemaker until the untimely early death of Jack on September 25, 1975. She then began her working career at Riddell National Bank, retiring after 25 years. Loretta was a devoted member of the McKinley Hill Church of Christ, and she dearly loved her church family.

She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, pie baking, playing the piano and watching the Pacers’ Basketball and Cardinals’ Baseball games. She was an avid dog lover, providing a loving home for multiple dogs through the years. Her most cherished time was spent with her family and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, David Kirchner and daughter in law, Tove, and sister Delores 

(Rodgers) Myers Haddon.

Survivors include her daughters Diane Smith and husband Kenny, Darla Kirchner, Denise Brush and husband John; grandchildren, Mallory Blunk (Corey), Maggie Chumley (Nate), Madison Will (Mike), Kelsey Hughes (Travis), Abby Smith, Alex Smith (Kasey), Mackenzie Smith (Walker), Mavery Brush (C.J. Haines); great-grandchildren, Charlee and Claire Blunk, Simon and Titus Will, Kenly, Blakeley, Layney and Remi Hughes, and Dawson Smith; niece Brenda Moody (Rory) and other extended family.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 11-1:00pm at Lawson-Miller Chapel. Services will follow at 1:00pm with Brook Reinoehl officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to McKinley Hill Church of Christ, 10700 N. Co. Rd. 300E, Brazil, IN. 47834
