Lucille Kay Railsback, 79, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 5, 1944 in Terre Haute to Norman Edward Wood and Henrietta Lucille (Yesley) Adams. She married Ronald Railsback on October 11, 1963.

Kay is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Ron Railsback of Terre Haute; children, Rhonda Pine and husband David, Laura Skeel and husband Ryan, Tina Browning and husband Donald, and Jonathan Railsback, all of Terre Haute; grandchildren: Steven Meyer, Brittany Meyer-Lee and husband Stewart, Justin Pine and wife Jenna, Barbara Jones, Leah Kennedy, Savannah Kennedy, Victoria Ethington and husband Steven, Dwayne Hood Jr., Konar Parrish and husband Tim, and Joshua Railsback; a brother, William Wood of Florida; many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a step-father, Raymond Adams; a grandson, David Pine II, and a sister, Betty Varvel.

Kay was a 1963 graduate of Gerstmeyer High School. She worked as a home health and a nurses’ aide for many years, helping people in their homes, at the county nursing home, and at Cannon Inn Assisted Living. She was an activities volunteer at Signature Health Care. Kay loved to make crafts. She also loved shopping and going to lunch. She was a long-time member of First Church of the Nazarene and was faithful to her God. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating. Kay will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park’s Chapel of Memories. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
