Michael Scott Mroczek

September 4, 1961  -  February 13, 2023

Michael Scott Mroczek, 61, of Brazil, Indiana passed away while at Gibson Center for Hospice Care on February 13, 2023 following a battle with cancer.

Mike was born on September 4, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Stanley and Mary (Harmon) Mroczek. He was a 1980 graduate of Brazil High School. Mike was a 27 year member of the Graphic Communications International Union (GCIU) #303. He worked as a Journeyman Pressman at Ivy Hill, in Terre Haute for many years. Mike was a member of the Cory Volunteer Fire Department where he was trained as an EMS first responder and as a HAZMAT technician.

When his boys were in high school, Mike ran North Night Wrestling Club, a freestyle wrestling club that traveled the Midwest.

Mike was a talented mechanic and body man and enjoyed working on vehicles and motorcycles.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Mary Mroczek; two sons: Sean Mroczek and Jason Johnson.

Mike is survived by his wife of more than 40 years Jacqueline Mroczek, son Derek Mroczek and wife Krista of Ft. Benning, Georgia, grandchildren: Trenton and Colten Mroczek, Byron, Haileigh Layne, and Morgan Johnson, 3 great-grandchildren, 2 special cousins Chris and Mark Gomez and a special friend Matt Krider.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834 on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church on Friday, at 1:00 PM with burial at Clearview Cemetery.
