Lenora J. Marks

Lenora “Lee” Marks, 70, of Brazil, IN passed away Friday, February 17, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born on May 22, 1952, in Terre Haute, Indiana the daughter of Moses and Margaret (Mitchuson) Marks. She graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1970. Later, she earned an economics degree from Indiana State University. Lee worked as a Dental Hygienist, in Florida, for a short time. After moving back to Brazil, she began working for Columbia House, in Terre Haute, Indiana in their Human Resources department. Once Columbia House closed she worked for the Putnamville Correctional Facility until retiring.

Lenora enjoyed quilting, reading, and spending time in her garden. She was very passionate when it came to many things, but she was most passionate when it came to her family, whom she loved dearly, as well as her three dogs Tootles, Jessie, and Tillie. She especially enjoyed Sunday dinners, laughing and reminiscing, with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Moses and Margaret Marks.

Lee is survived by her daughter Michelle (Moon) Barnett, two grandchildren Emma Evans and her husband Robin Evans; Mark Reed Jr. and his wife Shelby Reed as well as five grandchildren: Cadel Westfall, Corbin Evans, Brynleigh Evans, Greysen Evans, and Lizzy Reed all of Brazil, IN; cousins: Fonda Joyce of Chattanooga, TN, Joe Marks of Chicago, IL, and Jim Marks of Brazil, IN as well as several extended family members.

Visitation will be held at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from noon until 2:00 PM. A celebration of life will follow at 2:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Calcutta Cemetery at a later date.
