Gary Jordan

October 9, 1949  -  February 22, 2023

Gary Wayne Jordan, 73, passed away February 22, 2023 unexpectedly at Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. Gary was born to the late Jasper and Gloria (Gray) Jordan on October 9, 1949.

Gary graduated from Brazil High School in 1968. After graduation, Gary served his country overseas in the United States Navy. On January 26, 1974, Gary married the love of his life, Judy Jordan. Gary drove a semi for Metal Industries of Brazil for many years. In 2012 he retired from Brazil Trucking. After retirement, Gary enjoyed playing golf, camping, and fishing. Each Easter, Gary dressed up as the Easter Bunny and traveled to schools and nursing homes. Gary and Judy also traveled to elementary schools to teach students how to properly fold the American flag. He enjoyed being with friends, and visiting with them at the V.F.W. For several years he served on the house committee at the V.F.W.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, his in laws, Alfred and Lillie Cox, a nephew, Shad Cox, a sister in law, Linda Zettler and three brothers in law, Robert Cox, Ronald Houser, and Oren Zettler.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Judy Jordan, two children, Gary Wayne Jordan Jr., and David Dwayne Jordan (Marilyn), brothers, Robert Jordan (Cheryl) and William Jordan (Amy), sisters, Kathy Cox (John), and Connie Houser. Also surviving is Gary’s four-legged best friend, Coco, as well as several extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday March 1st at 2 P.M. at the V.F.W. Post 1127, 303 South Depot Street in Brazil.
