Charles Thomas Schenk

Charles T. “Charlie” Schenk, 81, of Cloverdale, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023.

Born June 5, 1941 in Indianapolis, the son of Charles J. and Honor Audrey (Watkins) Schenk. He was a graduate of Washington High School, Indianapolis.

He was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Cloverdale Masonic Lodge and Shriners.

Charlie was a manager at Soapy Joes Carwash in Greencastle, retiring in 2014. He had previously worked as a car salesman for dealerships in Greencastle, Terre Haute, and Brazil and ten years with Indianapolis Gas and Power Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janice (Giddings) Schenk; a sister, Susan Muncie; sisters-in-law, Jenni (Ernie) Artis) and Joan (Bob) Corns; and nieces and nephews, Michelle, Shawn, Robin, Karen, and Aaron.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at the Fillmore Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
