Doris B Scobee

OCTOBER 16, 1927 – MARCH 17, 2023

Doris B. Scobee, 95, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023.

Born October 16, 1927 in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Clifford and Muriel (Alspaugh) Thomas and a graduate of Greencastle High School.

Doris was homemaker, devoted to her husband, sons, and family. She had also worked as a salesperson at Moore’s Shoes, The Bootery and Nora Jane’s. She had previously worked at the Angwell Curtain Factory.

She was a member of the Putnamville United Methodist Church and attended Sherwood Christian Church.

Doris is survived by her son, Devon Scobee and fiancée’ Lori Query and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Estal Ray Scobee; son, John T. Scobee; sister, Rosemary Carrington; and brother, Clifford “Sonny” Thomas.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 27, 2023 at the Forest Hill Cemetery with interment to follow. Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

A special thank you goes out to the staff of The Waters of Greencastle, who attended to her with love, tenderness, and dignity, during her stay there and her final hours, you are loved.
