Launa Elaine (Lidester) Tyra

Launa Elaine (Lidester) Tyra, 57, of Newtown went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 7, 2023.

Launa was born Dec. 18, 1965, at Lafayette, to Alta Mae (Goings) Wilson of Manistee, Michigan, and the late Jackie Blaine Lidester.

She married Gregory A Tyra on Nov. 19, 1997; and together they devoted their life to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was a faithful, fun loving wife and homemaker who loved the Lord, her family, church, and community. She was truly a Proverbs 31 woman.

She will be greatly missed by husband Gregory Tyra, Newtown; sons, Michael (Jamie) Brown and Trouble (Bobbie) Byrum, both of Lafayette; daughters, Heather (Adam) Clarke of Sumter, South Carolina, and Lindsey Brown of Newtown; grandchildren, Addison, Mason, Silas and Abby; siblings, Michael (Susan) Lidester, Linda (Gary McElwee) Earl, Cindy (Samantha Perkins) Lidester, Alichia (Matt) Wilson, Patrick Wilson and Turtle Wilson; and mother Alta Mae Wilson.

Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 14 at Maus Funeral Home, Attica. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 15 in the Attica Free Methodist Church, with Pastor Tom Camp and her husband, Greg Tyra, officiating. Burial will follow in the Newtown Cemetery, Newtown.
