Earl Clifford Orman, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on April 12, 2023, in Clay City, Indiana, at the age of 101 and 10 days.

Earl was born on April 2, 1922, in the same small town where he would later pass, Earl was known for his intelligence, generosity, and exceptional handy skills.

A proud veteran, Earl served his country during World War II in the 11th Airborne, 187th Regiment, in the South Pacific, as a paratrooper. His bravery, dedication, and commitment to his fellow servicemen and women provided a strong foundation for his life's journey.

Earl enjoyed crossword puzzles so much that he had worn out at least 2 dictionaries. He also loved woodworking and carpentry which led him to a successful career at Crane Naval Ammunition Depot where he retired at the age of 55. His talent for creating beautiful, functional spaces was evident in the homes and furniture he built throughout his life.

Earl and his wife enjoyed wintering in Florida, where they spent their days basking in the warmth of the sun, exploring the local attractions, and creating cherished memories with their family and friends. These annual trips provided a welcome respite from the harsh Indiana winters and allowed Earl to continue pursuing his love of woodworking and carpentry, as he often took on projects for friends and neighbors in the Sunshine State.

As we remember Earl, we are reminded of the many ways in which he touched our lives through his intelligence, generosity, and remarkable skill as a craftsman. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication that will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know him.
