Frieda Louise Rawley, 91, passed away April 26, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Frieda was born to the late Roy and Gladys (Love) Cook on January 3, 1932 in Tipton, Indiana.

Frieda worked as a registered nurse for many years after graduating from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Union Hospital, and Greene County Hospital and finishing her career at Clay County Hospital. For a few years she also worked as an office nurse for Dr. Buell. She was very admired in her professional life by many. She set the standard in her family and many others on what it means to be a smart, caring, and compassionate nurse.

Frieda was an avid fan of Purdue Boilermakers Basketball as well as the Indiana Pacers. In her free time, she loved watching birds, and had a special admiration for Cardinals. She loved reading books. When she was able to care for her garden, she had a beautiful flower garden where she loved tending to carnations, roses, peonies, and various other plants.

Frieda is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husband, Dennis Leon Rawley, and one son, Dennis Merle Rawley as well as several extended family members.

Frieda is survived by her daughters, Susan Rawley, Paula Libka (Scott), Denise Lynch, Sarah Rawley, grandchildren, Eric, Nicole, Levi (Stephanie), Anna (Chris), and Julia, great grandchildren, Aryka (Paul), Kameron, J., Ellie, Penelope, and one great great grandchild, Valerie, a brother-in-law, Oran Rawley (Karen) who was like a little brother to her. She is also survived by her pets, Romeo, Leonardo, and Gray Baby, as well as several extended family members.

A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date.
