Donna Elaine Barnhart

Donna Elaine (Boyce) Barnhart, 84, of Center Point, Indiana passed away on June 10, 2023, following an extended illness.

Donna was born on August 10, 1938, in Brazil, Indiana, the daughter of Kenneth L. and Estel G. (Moon) Boyce. She graduated from Ashboro High School with the class of 1956 and later graduated from business school. She worked at Quaker Maid before beginning her career with First National Bank and Riddell National Bank in Center Point. She retired after 38 years of service.

Donna married Earl Barnhart on June 8, 1958. Donna was a member of the Center Point United Methodist Church for many years. Donna enjoyed quilting and had made more than 100 quilts over her lifetime. She also will be remembered for her nearly famous noodles and rolls. Donna has written, as a “pen-pal”, to Diana and Allan Quigley, in England, since she was a schoolgirl. This friendship has continued for over 70 years.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Estel Boyce; sisters Mary Boyce and Marjorie Dunkley; and a brother Kenneth Boyce Jr. and a brother Ronald Boyce in infancy.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years Earl Barnhart; daughters: Rhonda (Greg) Rentschler and Annette (Roy) Smith; grandchildren: Lindsey Rentschler, Annessa (Andrew) Albright, Zeph (Haylie) Smith, and Cooper Smith; great-grandchildren: Haylee Hull, Alex Albright, Alayna Albright, Asher Albright, and Arya Albright as well as many extended family members.

Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Services will begin at 2:00 PM with Pastor Doug Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Center Point Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Center Point United Methodist Church PO Box 96, Centerpoint, Indiana 47840.
