Donelda M. Hume

July 13, 1936 - June 6, 2023

Mrs. Donelda M. Hume, 86, of New Ross, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Hendricks Regional Hospital in Danville, Indiana. 

She was born on July 13, 1936, in Boone County, Indiana, a daughter of the late Howard Clovis Burris and Ethel Mae (Beagle) Burris Wethington. She attended Advance and Jackson Township schools. 

On April 6, 1956, Donelda was married to Donald Lee “Don” Hume; he preceded her in death on July 6, 2017. 

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Donelda loved her family and taking care of her home.  She had a few pets throughout the years including Boston Terriers and Basset Hounds that were considered important family members as well. Donelda was a member of the Advance Conservation Club. She and her husband enjoyed their crafting business together called Sawdust and Stitches.

Survivors include a son, John (Cindy) Hume of New Ross, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Dawn Hume of North Salem; and four grandchildren, Garrett, Breanna, Isaac, and Owen.   

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Brian E. Hume, a stillborn grandson, John Robert Hume; and stepfather, Joseph Curtis Wethington.

Private Graveside Services were held at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Jamestown, Indiana. Porter and Hunt Funeral Home & Crematory was entrusted with her burial arrangements.
