Halford Mercer

August 23, 1924  -  June 11, 2023

Halford Keith Mercer a WWII veteran went to be with his Heavenly Father on June 11, 2023. He was born August 23, 1924 to the late George Lenzenby Mercer and the late Mina Lena Moore Mercer.

He was predeceased by his wife of 78 years Lelia Marie (Johnson) Mercer, one brother, Marcus Wayne Mercer and one sister, Marceline Virginia Mercer Burger, a granddaughter, Angela Mercer as well as one son-in-law, James Mehne Sr.

Survivors include: One daughter of San Antonio, Texas, Sonna Marie Mercer Mehne, one son, Gary Mercer and wife McCarla Mercer of Florida, three grandchildren, James Jr. and Bobby Mehne, and John Mercer, great grandchildren, Tyler Mehne, Kayla Mehne, and Aiden Mehne, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 21st from 1 – 2 P.M. at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 East National Avenue in Brazil. A funeral service will begin at 2 P.M. Burial will follow at Calcutta with military honors presented.
