George Arnold Leach Jr.

George A. Leach, Jr., 96, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 with family and friends by his side. He was born on May 3, 1927, in Terre Haute to George A. Leach, Sr. and Margaret Nellie (Stearly) Leach.
George is survived by his daughters, Debbie Howard and husband Frank, and Vicky Zentko and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Michael Leach and wife, Anca, Julie Rochester and husband, John, and Mica Mitchell and husband Brad; several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wilma (Withers) Leach; and a brother, David Leach.
George joined the United States Army during World War II at the age of 17. He specialized in explosives and demolitions and served in the European theater. Upon returning to the United States after his tour of duty, George went to work for Ethyl Visqueen and retired after 35 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed watching the Indiana Pacers, sharing stories of his life, and being the conductor of his model railway. George had several hobbies including woodworking, painting, and assembling model military airplanes.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home with military honors.
